چکیده

This paper describes the author’s RIM3 Fortran code. RIM3 delivers a computational solution to the acoustic field produced by a vibrating plate placed on an infinite baffle. The mathematical model is based on the Rayleigh integral. The method is implemented in three-dimensions in a manner that is similar to the boundary element method and is applied to test cases and results are given. The software is available as open source and can be downloaded from www.east-lancashire-research.org.uk (report AR-08-16). Key-Words: acoustics, computational, Rayleigh integral, boundary element method.

Academic Report: AR-07-03 Computing the Acoustic Field of a Radiating Cavity by the Boundary Element -Rayleigh Integral Method (BERIM) with application to a Horn Loudspeaker

This paper describes the Fortran subroutine BERIM3 that delivers a computational solution to the acoustic field both within and outside of a cavity with one opening into the exterior domain. The mathematical model is based on coupling the usual direct boundary integral equation for the interior region to the Rayleigh integral for the mouth of the domain and the exterior region. The usual bounda...

Analytical Solution for Sound Radiation of Vibrating Circular Plates coupled with Piezo-electric Layers

In the present study, the classical plate theory (CPT) was used to study sound radiation of forced vibrating thin circular plates coupled with piezoelectric layers using simply supported and clamped boundary conditions. The novelty of the study consists of an exact closed-form solution that was developed without any use of approximation. Piezoelectric, electrical potential loaded in the transve...

Analyzing Acoustic Radiation Modes of Baffled Plates With a Fast Multipole Boundary Element Method

In the analysis of an acoustic radiation mode of a baffled plate, Rayleigh integral with free space Green’s function is involved. The boundary element method (BEM) is one of the approaches to compute its modes and radiation efficiencies. In this paper a fast multipole BEM in conjunction with an iterative solver based on the implicit restart Arnold method is proposed to efficiently and accuratel...
